Out with the old homepage

If you’ve been around for a while you have likely seen the Goplan homepage. It’s been pretty successful in letting people know what Goplan is about and it actually made a couple of appearances in design books which is obviously something we’re happy about.

But now it’s gone. Althout the page was aesthetically pleasing, we can’t really say we were happy about how the information was organized and how limiting the one-page layout was - heck there wasn’t even a link to proper screenshots of the application. Here’s the new (and hopefully improved) homepage (which you can view in all its glory here):

If you have any comments, we’d love to hear them. Also, we’ll be adding some video tutorials and user videos to it so you can see both how to organize your projects with Goplan as well as how it helps others be more productive in their work. Enjoy.

When will the Themes be ready?

[...] You can join for free and manage 2 projects, if you want to manage more projects plans start at $10 a month and you can manage 12 projects with 8 users per project. They are always updating the system; you can see their activity on the system on their blog. [...]

Andre: we’re working on bringing the customizable themes and UI into goplan very soon - I’d say about a week. There’s been a lot of work on other areas of the application, which is why this is taking a little longer to push to the live servers.

:) 1 Week and 3 days still waiting for this nice skinning feature =)

Not being funny, your web app looks quite attractive and easy to use, but why should i use it over basecamp?

Because you can assign dates to To-Dos.

*Although the ical feed for the service isn’t digestible by google calendar and it doesn’t treat todos as events.

Still better than basecamp though…

I wish the time went into upgrading the server instead of the new site design — I am a new customer and it is so unresponsive at times I can’t even close a ticket without a 502 error.

Still waiting for this famous style switching capability =(

Nice clean design, although I did like the previous, it is a good evolution. Needs more information on the homepage - especially feature descriptions. The screen grabs could be improved - not that I’m suggesting a straight copy, but http://www.campaignmonitor.com shows screengrabs really nicely with more style - simple but effective.
